| START Message Board | Welcome to our message board. We hope that Start schools and anyone interested in the project will talk to us about our theatre and our visiting productions; what we do everyday and why we do it!
Playhouse Education and County English advisors have been visiting Alderman Peel, Cromer High, Earlham High, Hewett School, Helledson High and Sprowston High School in the past few weeks and talking to teachers and our special STUDENT RESEARCH ACTION TEAMS.
We have included a few thoughts from our teams below. What do you think? Email robertah@norwichplayhouse.co.uk to have your say. 9 October 2008 | | Question: What are the main differences between visiting the cinema and the theatre? | Answer: (Alderman Peel RSA Team) Better special effects at a cinema and popcorn and ice cream on sale. You get to see and meet actors at a theatre. It is live action at a theatre so you get into the characters and the emotions more. You can become part of the play, like talking to the characters in a pantomime. You get more involved in a theatre, cinema is like watching TV. | | Question: As part of the Start Programme, you will visit the Playhouse twice; first to see a play and then to see a hip-hop dance company. what do you think both trips will be like? | | Answer: (Alderman Peel RSA Team) Shakespeare will be long and serious. Shakespeare will be different from proper Shakespeare for adults because the actors are like us in school. R&J will be more modern. It will be fun but a bit scary. The hip-hop will be fun, you can clap along. Hip hop will be more fun, more interactive. | | | | | | | |
